A Tribute To A Hero

Mary Kelly Mohr

(Continued)

Along with 3 Vietnam Veterans,  Mary filed and was granted 501(c) 3 status with a Mission Statement of assisting needy Veteran families with furniture and essential household goods at no cost to them.

To date, Heroes Warehouse has assisted more than 5,600 Veteran families in Southern California.  With a small group of volunteers (no one is paid), Mary has been instrumental in creating and successfully operating a much appreciated and necessary community service.

Mary’s love of Veterans and people in general, knew no bounds as Mary always placed others above her own needs.  Her life was marked by her unparalleled generosity. According to her husband and partner of 40 years Richard Mohr, Mary was the most loving, giving person he ever knew.  Her positive, forward-thinking spirit was contagious.

When not working 70+ hours per week dedicated to Heroes Warehouse, Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, husband,  family, and friends.  She relished taking several vacations every year to Moonlight Beach, Encinitas.  She loved concerts, family dinners,  friend’s BBQ’s, travel especially (Hawaii) and shopping.
